{Okayama} I asked my friend from Okayama! I'll tell you about a date plan in Kurashiki that will make your boyfriend happy (Part 1)

Hello. I'm Mo, a female college student. Does everyone know about the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter?

In a word, it's a place in Okayama Prefecture where kimonos look great. I'm planning to go there with my boyfriend soon. We'll go on a kimono date there. It reminds me of when I went to Kyoto.

I'm really looking forward to this kimono date (grin)

Anyway, I have to make the plans for our upcoming date to Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter. He's busy, but that can't be helped. When I make plans for a date, I usually go to a spot that looks good on Instagram, but this time I'm thinking of making it a bit different.

I thought we might go on a date based on the history, culture, or local specialties of the area.

It's pretty formal (lol)

I need to show him how smart I am sometimes, otherwise he'll be disappointed (laughs).

So, this time I'm going to be serious and think about planning a date.

I would be happy if everyone could use this as a reference ♡

((((Moe came up with a date in Kurashiki that will definitely make your boyfriend happy!!!))))

6:15 Arrive at Kurashiki Station

Eat breakfast

8:27 He arrived at Kurashiki Station.

9:00 Kimono Rental VASARA

10:00 Time to head out ~ We're heading to the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter ~

10:06 Boat ride on Kurashiki River

It's still going on~~

I'm taking a late-night bus from Fukuoka, which is close to my hometown, to Kurashiki, so I'll be arriving at Kurashiki Station at 6:15 in the morning.

He's also going to Kurashiki from his hometown Mie, so I wonder if he'll arrive around 10 o'clock?

So, I'll be bored until then.

It might be an option to go sightseeing in Kurashiki alone, but I'm not sure what to do.

I want to see the townscape of Kurashiki at the same time as him and be really moved, so I'll have a super delicious breakfast in Kurashiki and read a book there while I wait. I might be busy with my doggie report and writing a report. Oh well, I don't know anything about reports (laughs) (tears)

Anyway, I'm thinking of waiting for him at a really stylish restaurant,

First, I have to find breakfast!!! But I don't want to spend too much money, so I want something cheap (lol)

So, here are the restaurants I chose!!

Tadaa!!

"Boulangerie Mugi" is a bakery that opens at 7:30.

I looked around for shops near the station, but there were no shops that were open from 6:30.

The earliest it opened was 7:30.

I'll get to the station at 6:15 and then hang out somewhere until 7:30.

Boulangerie mugi

A bakery located a 10-minute walk from the south exit of Kurashiki Station.

The exterior is reminiscent of an old Japanese house, and the interior is made using natural materials such as clay walls, lacquer, and persimmon tannins, creating a warm atmosphere.

Business hours are 7:30-19:00

I think I'll kill some time here by eating some delicious bread.

If you arrive at Kurashiki Station later, I also recommend the long-established sushi and Japanese restaurant "Higashida." They serve breakfast from 8:30 to 12:00.

Rice is 700 yen, bread is 700 yen. It's open until 12 o'clock, so you can have an early lunch!!

The bread is a hot sandwich filled with egg, ham, cucumber, and lettuce, so it's very nutritious!

Plus, it comes with soup, salad, and coffee, so I think it's a pretty good deal.

As for the food, there's fried horse mackerel, pork soup, rice, and pickles.

This one is good too.

8:27 Met up with him at Kurashiki Station

Here he comes!!!

Yes, I'm so happy -- that's probably what I'd think (lol). I'm just imagining things (lol).

9:00 Arrive at VASARA Kimono Rental Store in Kurashiki Bikan District.

This restaurant is a 10-minute walk from the south exit of Kurashiki Station, near the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter.

Some of you may be worried because you've never rented a kimono before, so let me explain.

When you arrive at the store, you first go through the formalities and then you can choose your kimono.

For kimonos, there are various plans such as Standard, One-Star, two star, three star, couple plan, hakama, and furisode. The kimono you can choose varies depending on the plan. The price is also cheap, starting from 2990 yen.

If you make a reservation in advance online, you can save over 1,000 yen.

It's definitely more economical to make a reservation in advance, so if you're even a little interested, check out the URL below.

https://vasara-h.co.jp/plan/

You can choose your kimono and obi, and you can also choose the obi string as an option. I think it's a good idea to add the obi string as an option. The obi string will add an accent and make it even cuter, so I recommend it.

After that, you get dressed.

Go to the designated reception area and start getting dressed.

The staff will help you dress quickly.

It takes about 20 minutes to complete the dressing.

Once that's done, it's time to style your hair. You can also wear the hairpin you've always wanted.

There are free courses and paid courses for braiding. It's a tough decision to choose between cuteness and cheapness.

Finally, choose the accessories.

Choose a drawstring bag and footwear. There are also large basket bags available for a fee, so if you have a lot of luggage, these might be a good option.

Tourists can rest assured as the store will store their luggage for them.

I'm really indecisive and choosing a kimono will probably take a long time, so I think I'll set aside about an hour to spend in this shop.

10:00 Time to head out ~ We're heading to the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter ~

10:06 Boat ride on Kurashiki River

"Since I've come all the way to Kurashiki, I want to do something Kurashiki-like," I think.

It's something I definitely want to do in Kurashiki. The reason is that when I searched #KurashikiBikanHistoricalEstimate on Instagram, I saw a lot of photos of a big river, riverboats, willow trees lining the river, and a retro building with white walls in the background. I thought this might be the representative view of KurashikiBikanHistoricalEstimate. I want to ride this riverboat and spend a relaxing time with him. It sounds so romantic when I imagine it. Apparently, when you ride the riverboat, the boatman will tell you about the main spots. If I have time, I might go to those spots too.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention something very important: time and money!

The first departure is at 9:30am and the last one is at 5pm, with departures every 30 minutes.

The regular closing days are the second Monday of every month from March to November (except for national holidays), and from December to February, the service only operates on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays. It seems that the service is suspended during the New Year holidays.

The fee is 500 yen for adults and 250 yen for children (ages 5 to elementary school).
