If you want to stand out at Halloween, wear a kimono! We will introduce Halloween kimono outfits and Instagrammable spots.

Hello. September has come to an end in a flash, and we are already in October. The big summer events such as fireworks festivals, swimming in the pool, and swimming in the sea are over, and the next big event is Halloween. When it comes to Halloween, dressing up as a cat or a witch is common, but there are probably some people who dress up in the same costume every year, and some who feel unsatisfied with the same cosplay as everyone else. For those of you, we would like to introduce some Halloween kimono coordination.

Are you going to wear a kimono for Halloween?

Many people may wonder if a kimono is appropriate for Halloween. However, with a little effort, you can create a kimono outfit that suits Halloween. By taking advantage of the colors and patterns of the obi fastener, obi, layered collar and obi sash, you can instantly create a Halloween outfit.

I will introduce each one, so please use it as a reference.

Obi fastener

First, let's start with the obi fastener. An obi fastener is an accessory that is threaded through an obi fastener. Unlike the practical obi fastener and obi fastener used to fasten the obi, the obi fastener is more of an accessory and is not something that you necessarily have to wear. However, having this obi fastener can instantly make your outfit look more stylish.

Since it's Halloween, we recommend jack-o'-lanterns, cats, bats, witches, and ghosts.

The cheaper ones sell for around 2,000 yen, so they are easy to purchase.

band

As you all know, an obi is a long, narrow piece of cloth that is wrapped and tied around the waist.

There are actually Halloween-themed obi belts available. The knot at the back also has a Halloween design, so it might be fun to take photos with your back to it.

Even the cheapest ones like this cost around 4,000 yen, so it might be a good idea to use an obi you already have.

We recommend pairing a Halloween-themed obidome with a purple, orange, or black obi to create a Halloween look.

Layered collar

As the name suggests, layered collars are made of multiple collars. The reason for layering collars is to cover sweat and foundation stains around the neck. When you look at the collar of a kimono, have you ever seen multiple layers of collars? By layering multiple collars, the neck area is made luxurious. It is a must-have for fashionistas. So, all you need to do is give this layered collar a Halloween feel. Matching the colors of layered collars is important.

  • Similar colors

Choose a color from the kimono pattern

  • Complementary colors

Use a color that is the exact opposite of the obi and pattern of the kimono.

  • Match color and brightness

Use the same color tone and brightness as the kimono and obi.

It would be a good idea to keep these three points in mind.

For Halloween, it would be nice to use orange, black, and purple as the base, and layer yellow-green, the complementary color of purple, and blue, the complementary color of orange, on the collar. These are cheap and available online, starting at around 1,000 yen, so they are easy to incorporate into your wardrobe.

Obiage

It is used to hide the obi pillow and its string. It sticks out a little from the obi. It is necessary to consider the balance with the obi. For formal occasions such as ceremonies and social events, light colors are preferable, while dark colors are preferable for casual occasions such as everyday use and fashion. There are also Halloween-themed obiage, but you can wear an orange or purple obiage with a black obi, or wear an orange kimono with a black obi. It is also stylish to use a complementary blue obiage as an accent color.

Next, we will introduce some Instagram-worthy Halloween spots that go well with these stylish kimonos.
