Cheap, cute, and close to the station! Experience wearing a kimono at VASARA Kimono Rental Store in front of Asakusa Station!

When you go up from Asakusa Station on the subway, you will see Tokyo Skytree, Kaminarimon, rickshaws, and foreign tourists and couples wearing kimonos. Asakusa is now a popular Japanese tourist destination around the world. When you see people wearing kimonos, don't you think you would like to try wearing one yourself if you could wear one casually? In this article, we will introduce the new common sense of Asakusa that will make both trend-conscious and those who are not particularly interested in kimonos want to try wearing a kimono.

Kimono tourism is becoming more and more popular

With the spread of SNS, anyone can easily share information such as "I went to XX" or "I found this cute food". In the midst of all this, kimonos became popular among students and foreign tourists who wanted to take Instagram-worthy photos. Kimono are now known around the world as a traditional Japanese national costume. I think it is generally believed that kimonos can no longer be worn unless there is a certain event such as a coming-of-age ceremony or a fireworks festival. That is why it is easy to take Instagram-worthy photos by wearing something you don't normally wear and going to tourist spots or photo spots. Moreover, a pattern was created in which these photos were constantly being posted on SNS. There was no way to avoid this trend, and kimono tourism became popular, triggered by SNS and websites.

In line with this, kimono rental shops, Instagram-worthy cafes, sweets shops, and more are opening one after another in Asakusa. Asakusa is not just home to the Kaminarimon Gate and Sensoji Temple, which are symbols of Japanese culture in Tokyo, but is also evolving into a town perfect for kimono tourism and photogenic spots.

Amidst a sea of kimono rental stores, we opened our fourth store in the Asakusa area, "Kimono Rental VASARA Asakusa Station Store."

On Friday, March 8, 2019, the "Kimono Rental VASARA Asakusa Station Store" opened 20 seconds on foot from Exit 1 of Asakusa Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line. In addition to the new store, there are three other Kimono Rental VASARA stores in the Asakusa area: the Sensoji Store, the Asakusa Main Store, and the Asakusa Kaminarimon Store, and the Asakusa Station Store is the fourth store. As the store is the closest to the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, it is located in a place that catches the eye of many people.

Nowadays, it has become common to walk around Asakusa in a kimono. We want more people to wear kimono, and that is why we have opened the most stores compared to our competitors. With four stores, we can accommodate you if you feel like wearing a kimono when you come to Asakusa.

If you want to use it on the day, you can find out which store to go to through the industry's only common call center for all stores. Even if you get lost, we will guide you, so please feel free to use it.

store information

Kimono Rental VASARA Asakusa Station Store

The Asakusa Station store is popular with foreigners and students. For that reason, they stock a lot of kimonos and yukatas with relatively cute patterns. They stock a lot of Kimono One-Star (4,900 yen for online reservations) that are recommended for young women and foreign customers, with cute patterns and accent floral patterns and dark colors.

On the first floor, a Japanese izakaya called "TORASUZU" is scheduled to open on Monday, April 15th. Adults can come and have a drink after walking around in a kimono. The menu is fresh and reasonably priced, so please come and visit us.

Kimono Rental VASARA Sensoji Store

This is the first kimono rental shop of VASARA. It is a shop that can accommodate not only tourists but also groups. The shop can accommodate any request, such as the "Three Star" kimono with a long-sleeved kimono pattern (6,900 yen for online reservations), which is popular with foreign tourists, as well as formal formal kimonos and hakama. This shop also has an Italian restaurant called "La VASARA Cafe & Grill", which is loved by local residents and allows pets. It is so popular that reservations cannot be made for lunch and dinner on weekends up to a month in advance, so why not come with friends or as a couple?

Kimono Rental VASARA Asakusa Main Store

This store is located a one-minute walk from Exit 6 of the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line. This store is large and has many customers, making it easy to guide people who are looking to rent a kimono on the day. They offer the cheapest plan, Standard Kimono (2,900 yen for online reservations), so you can rent a kimono at an affordable price even on the day.

Kimono Rental VASARA Asakusa Kaminarimon Store

The Asakusa Kaminarimon store is located in Shin-Nakamisedori, an area often visited by foreign tourists staying at hotels and accommodations in Asakusa. Shin-Nakamisedori is an area where many new, fashionable stores have opened in recent years, such as Yanagi Chaya, so the store is conveniently located so that while you are waiting to change into your kimono, someone else can wait in line.

There are plenty of activities where you can wear a kimono

There are many spots in Asakusa that can be enjoyed even more if you wear a kimono, such as Sensoji Temple, Kaminarimon, and rickshaws. "Kagetsudo" and "Hanayashiki" are also photogenic spots, so I recommend them. If you come to Asakusa, be sure to rent a kimono and enjoy sightseeing.
