Kimono rental is recommended for dates in Asakusa

For those of you who are considering a date in Asakusa, wouldn't you like to have a fun time that's different from usual while you're out with your partner? One thing that's different from usual is renting a kimono. You'll get to see your partner in a kimono, which is something you don't usually get to see, so you're sure to be excited for both of you. In this article, we'll introduce you to some sightseeing spots and recommended bars that are perfect for an Asakusa date. Enjoy a high-class Asakusa date to the fullest.

  • When you arrive in Asakusa, the first thing to do is change into a kimono at VASARA Kimono Rental.

There are many kimono rental shops in Asakusa. One of the best is Kimono Rental VASARA. They have 20 stores nationwide, and in Tokyo they have stores near major stations such as Akihabara, Asakusa, Ikebukuro, Kichijoji, Ginza, Shibuya, and Shinjuku, with three stores in Asakusa. In addition, on March 8, 2019, the Kimono Rental VASARA Asakusa Station store will open. There is no way that a store that puts so much effort into Asakusa will provide disappointing service. They have hundreds of types of kimono in stock and can accommodate large men of about 180 cm and women around 170 cm, so they are a kimono rental shop that is popular with foreigners.

Dressing is done skillfully, and it takes about 45 minutes, 20 minutes for dressing and 20 minutes for hair styling. Just telling your girlfriend in a kimono that she looks cute before going out will get her excited to the max. You can also help her choose a kimono. It takes about 15 minutes for men to dress, so it's a good idea to review the date course in advance.

Kimono Rental VASARA offers a couple plan for a set of two people, a man and a woman. Normally, the plan costs 8,800 yen for two people, but if you make a reservation online in advance, you can get it for just 6,800 yen, so it feels like a good deal. Of course, if you want to wear a higher-grade kimono while choosing a kimono in the store, you can upgrade from the reserved plan. The dressing staff will explain the price carefully, so you don't have to worry about suddenly going over your budget.

  • Take lots of photos at tourist spots in Asakusa

Asakusa is a retro town where old-fashioned streets remain, so if you wear a kimono, anywhere will look picturesque. We will introduce recommended date spots from well-known tourist spots to lesser-known places.

・First, head to Kaminarimon

Kaminarimon is one of Japan's most famous tourist attractions. We recommend starting your date here. When taking photos, ask someone to help you, or it's a good idea to take a selfie with your partner standing shoulder to shoulder. If you have someone take photos for you, try to take them from as low an angle as possible, looking up at the Kaminarimon, for a good composition.

・Stroll along Nakamise Street enjoying tea and sweets

We head towards Sensoji Temple, passing through Nakamise-dori, where you can enjoy tea and sweets such as "Asakusa Kibidango Azuma," "Kaminariokoshi," and "Ningyoyaki." You'll probably get thirsty by the time you've finished changing into your kimono, so it might be a good idea to look for a delicious drink.

Although it is a little far from Nakamise Street, it might be worth stopping by "Mori no Ichigo Zona," a shop specializing in condensed milk strawberry juice, which is famous for being an Instagram-worthy shop with pink tiles.

・Pray at Sensoji Temple and get your fortune

When you arrive at Sensoji Temple, pray and draw your fortune so that you will stay happy together. At other temples, the odds of getting a bad fortune are about 10%, but at Sensoji, the odds are as high as 30%. Just to be clear, the bad fortunes at temples basically mean that things won't get any worse, so they don't necessarily mean you're unlucky. It might be fun to try your luck by drawing a fortune together, and then both hoping for a bad fortune.

・Enjoy a wonderful view of Tokyo Skytree for two

Tokyo Skytree is the symbol of Asakusa. Come here and enjoy the wonderful view. If you want to take a picture of the Skytree itself, we recommend "Azumabashi Bridge" or "In front of the rest area in Sumida Park, Taito Ward."

・Have a relaxing time at Kamiya Bar

Kamiya Bar is famous for being the first bar to open in Japan. Although it is a little on the high side, why not try their specialty cocktail "Denki Bran," which is sweet and easy to drink, while enjoying dinner?

  • A date in a kimono makes both of you more excited.

If you wear something different from usual, like a swimsuit or snowboarding wear, you will look different and get excited. If you rent a kimono, you can have that exciting experience anytime. Of course, you can also rent a yukata to enjoy the summer fireworks festival. If you have fun memories from your date in Asakusa, we would be happy to help you create special times in the future.
