Christmas is approaching. Many popular illuminations are being held all over Osaka. This time, we will introduce the illuminations at famous sightseeing spots in Osaka.

 

[Osaka Castle Park]

The Osaka Castle Illumination, themed on the end of the Edo period, the Meiji Restoration, and the beginning of modern civilization, is taking place against the backdrop of the Osaka Castle tower. Set against the vast waterfront, about 3 million LED lights are used to depict the era of 150 years ago. There are many things to see, including the Japanese Maze, which depicts the castle town streets of the end of the Edo period, and a 30m-wide historical picture scroll of light. There are also cute photo spots, and monkey shows and light-filled action scenes from the end of the Edo period are also held. The illumination period is from December 1st to March 3rd. Why not try wearing a kimono and experience the feeling of having traveled back in time to a turbulent era?

 

[Abeno Harukas]

Abeno Harukas, the tallest building in Japan, is holding an illumination event titled "Sky Illumination 2018" at Abeno Bear. It will be held from November 2nd to February 28th. The lights are shining in the Sky Garden on the 58th floor and the outer corridor on the 2nd floor, so taking a commemorative photo here is a must.

For those who will be celebrating their coming-of-age ceremony next year, which will be the last of the Heisei era, we recommend participating in the "6th Harukas Walk 300m above ground Coming-of-Age Ceremony". This is an event where you walk up 1,637 flights of stairs from the 1st floor to the 60th floor. Why not participate in this event and create memories that will last a lifetime?

 

[Expo Commemoration Park]

The Tower of the Sun, which was renovated and opened to the public in March 2018, is used as a screen for the Wonder Experience Illuminate Expo "The Sparkle of the Galaxy." You can enjoy a beautiful collaboration of video and music through the linkage of projection mapping and illumination, as well as movie painting. It's also nice to take a walk along the path of light made of more than 400,000 LED bulbs directly under the Tower of the Sun. Please come with your family, friends, or as a couple.

[Kaiyukan]

Kaiyukan is one of the world's largest aquariums, expressing the Pacific Rim with a huge tank. It's not just about "looking", there are also plenty of new experience areas. The whale shark is the most famous attraction. Illumination will be held at Kaiyukan from November 9, 2018 to March 3, 2019. The first thing you'll notice when you arrive is the giant whale shark with a total length of about 20m and a fantastic tree with a height of about 10m, inspired by jellyfish. You can enjoy various light events inside the aquarium. There is also a dolphin show, so it is an area that can be enjoyed by both children and adults. Until December 25th, "Santa Divers" dressed as Santa Claus will be appearing in the "Pacific Ocean Tank" and "Tasman Tank", so don't miss this! Kaiyukan is perfect for a Christmas date plan. Coordinating kimonos in Christmas colors is also nice.

 

[Universal Studios Japan]

"USJ" is a movie-themed amusement park where you can enjoy various rides, but the highlight of this winter is "Universal Wonder Christmas". You can enjoy beautiful singing, dancing, lights, and dynamic lighting along with the world's best Christmas tree. It is only available until January 6th. It is said to be the world's best Christmas show, so why not come and experience an emotional time!
