Spend Christmas in Kamakura and Enoshima

Why not spend a wonderful day in the Kamakura/Enoshima area this Christmas?

The staff at the Komachi-dori store will introduce you to some recommended spots for Christmas!

[gram]

Gram in Kamakura is a popular jewelry shop that makes rings at reasonable prices. Another reason for its popularity is that the craftsmen carefully make each ring right in front of you. You will need a numbered ticket to have your ring made, so when you arrive in Kamakura, go to Gram and get your numbered ticket first. Since it is a popular store, it is recommended to go and get your numbered ticket in the morning if possible!! When the numbered ticket time comes, you will return to the store and line up for a while. If you decide what design you want while you are waiting in line, you will be able to make it smoothly. There are many designs posted on Instagram, so please refer to them. Gram's work is detailed and fast, so it will be completed quickly. The cheapest price is 990 yen, so it is recommended for students!! In addition to reasonable rings, they also have high-end jewelry, so it is perfect as a gift.

[Salon de Kurumicco]

On October 20th, 2018, the long-established store Kamakura Beniya celebrated its 65th anniversary and opened a new café on the second floor of its main store as part of a brand renewal. The café is based on the concept of providing an elegant experience, and offers new Kurumikko desserts that can only be enjoyed here, as well as lattes, beers, and sparkling wines. Dessert Kurumicco looks like Kurumikko, but the inside is a completely different dessert. There are many other wonderful desserts, including Fromage UKISHIMA, a cheesecake inspired by the traditional Japanese confectionery Ukishima, and there is even a squirrel from the Kurumikko packaging inside the store, so it's fun to look for it!

[Enoshima Aquarium]

Enoshima Aquarium is one of the most famous spots in Shonan that you can't miss. It is also famous as a filming location for movies and dramas, and has appeared in "Wolf Girl and Black Prince," "Princess Jellyfish," "Her Smile in the Sunny Place," and "Shooting Star." What a surprise! This year in 2018, the aquarium has been upgraded with the addition of new exhibits such as Asian small-clawed otters and capybaras! In addition, a themed aquarium will be installed in December for the Christmas season, making Enoshima even more attractive. The aquarium displays a variety of creatures, from cute creatures such as dolphins, penguins, and spotted seals to extremely rare deep-sea creatures. The biggest attraction is the fish swimming in the Sagami Bay Large Aquarium, which is modeled after the world-famous Sagami Bay. Approximately 20,000 fish of 90 different species swim in the huge aquarium, which is 6.5 meters deep. Enoshima Aquarium was the first in Japan to display a large school of sardines, and you can see about 8,000 sardines in this large aquarium. The view is overwhelming, as if you have dived into the world of the sea in real life. In addition, in the Jellyfish Fantasy Hall, designed to beautifully display jellyfish, you can see about 14 kinds of jellyfish at any one time. When you step inside, you will be enveloped in a fantastical, soothing space with the leisurely dancing jellyfish and comfortable lighting. There are several 10-minute jellyfish shows a day, and you can learn about the ecology of jellyfish and the history of jellyfish breeding in "Enoshima Aquarium" through the world's first 3D projection mapping. Why not spend a wonderful time at the newly upgraded Enoshima Aquarium this Christmas? Please come and visit us.

[Enoshima Sea Candle]

A must-see in Kamakura in winter! Enoshima's Sea Candle! Sea Candle is an observation deck in the botanical garden "Samuel Cocking Garden" near the top of Enoshima, and in winter it hosts the "Jewel of Shonan," one of the three biggest illuminations in the Kanto region! It is held between sunset and 8 p.m., and Samuel Cocking Garden is filled with colorful lights. The illuminations hanging 360 degrees from the Sea Candle are particularly fantastic, and you will forget the passage of time. The "Shonan Tunnel of Light" leading to the Sea Candle is made of 70,000 crystal beads, and they shine brightly as they reflect the light of the illuminations. The most eye-catching of all are the three chandeliers hanging in the center of the tunnel. It's amazing that all of these chandeliers are handmade by the staff! Each clear bead is carefully strung together to create an indescribable glow. If you go up to the observation deck of Sea Candle, you can get a panoramic view of the Samuel Cocking Garden and the Shonan Light Tunnel that you have just walked through. The fantastic lights that appear on the dark road at night look like the Milky Way, so you definitely miss out if you don't see it! The last admission time for Samuel Cocking Garden is 19:30, but Sea Candle is located at the back of the garden where the illuminations are spread out, so make sure you arrive at Samuel Cocking Garden by 19:00 at the latest.
