● Kyoto Rurikei Onsen Kyoto Illumination Synesthesia Hills

The illuminations at Kyoto Rurikei Onsen, which were only held in the winter, have been expanded to become a night spot that can be enjoyed all year round. Experience interactive content with the theme of "synesthesia," a sensation of perceiving different senses than usual.

●ROHM ILLUMINATION 2018

This is the largest illumination in Kyoto City, with approximately 860,000 lights lit up on 86 trees, mainly along the avenue along Sai-dori. The illuminations on the lawn plaza, which were renewed in 2018, use LED bars and a large LED screen to create a sense of realism that spreads like ripples.

During the festival, on weekends and holidays, there will be a university student a cappella concert, the largest of its kind in the Kansai region (a total of 94 stages), as well as interactive events, so be sure to check it out!

●Kitayama Wedding Street Christmas Illumination

This illumination event will be held on Kitayama Wedding Street, which is about 300 meters long and brings together a total of eight facilities, including Kitayama Le Ange Church. This year, the gorgeous decorations will create a European atmosphere. In addition to the scenery, there will also be a number of events, such as candle nights where churches will be illuminated and gospel concerts.

●Kyoto Station Building Christmas Illumination 2018

The giant 22m Christmas tree has become a seasonal winter feature at Kyoto Station Building. The base changes every year, but this year's base commemorates the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Friendship Pact between Kyoto and Paris, and expresses the charm of France with red, white and blue flowers and music. The station square will be illuminated with a "sprouting" theme, enveloping the entire station building in a fantastical space. It is directly connected to the station, so be sure to visit it at the end of your trip to Kyoto.

●Kyoto Botanical Garden Illumination 2018

The garden path from the main gate to the observation greenhouse, from the camphor tree line to the Kitayama Gate, and the trees and flower beds in front of the Botanical Garden Hall are fantastically decorated. The camphor tree line, which is the symbol of the botanical garden, is illuminated for a total length of 200 meters by light artist Kyota Takahashi. Enjoy the night desert savannah from the observation greenhouse.

You can also enjoy the poinsettia exhibition in the greenhouse at night, which has a different atmosphere than usual.
