Beautiful and friendly staff

Had a great time in VASARA, walked in without reservation but the service was really good. Beautiful kimonos, definitely recommend!

This is my first trip to Japan. I wanted to wear a kimono as I’m a huge weeb and have been fascinated with Japanese culture since I was 5 years old. So finding this rental shop was a dream come true. They helped me pick up a kimono and even dressed me. One thing I’m happy to know is kimono is layers and layers and some more layers. I was warm to say the least. The kimono was gorgeous. Bright colors matches my rainbow braids perfectly. The women were super nice and I got to return the kimono the next day since me and my boyfriend were out all day and our train ride was late after the shop closed. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my experience. Rule of advice: wear tights or leggings. The kimono keeps your legs very close together. My thighs chaffed so bad. The next day, I could barely walk. If this does happen, coconut oil on the area and soak in a bath to bring down the swelling. Second is being your shoes with you. The sandals they provide, after a few hours will hurt your feet. I was so happy to wear my sneakers after walking for 5 hours. It’s worth it trust me, you’ll be happy you brought your shoes with you.
