Sumida River Fireworks Festival
To fully enjoy wearing a yukata

隅田川花火大会を浴衣で満喫するために

To enjoy the Sumida River Fireworks Festival in a yukata,
Bringing the following items with you will make your stay more comfortable:

  • Picnic sheet

It is essential for watching fireworks on a bank or lawn. Choose a size that is appropriate for the number of people so as not to disturb others. A seat with a design you like will also liven up the mood. If you are concerned about unevenness of the ground, a cushioned seat is convenient.
  • Insect repellent

If you're spending a long time outdoors at a fireworks display, you'll need to take precautions against insects. It's a good idea to use insect repellent spray or prepare some sort of insect repellent. If you're wearing a yukata, you're especially likely to get bitten on your wrists and ankles, so be careful.
  • Wet wipes

If you get dirty while sitting on the ground or your hands get sticky after eating food, you can quickly wipe them with wet tissues. This is a must-have item to have at your disposal to make your experience at a fireworks display more comfortable.
  • Fans, hand fans, handy fans

The heat of midsummer can be intense even at night. It is useful to have cool items to protect yourself from the heat. If you put a folding fan or a hand fan in the obi of your yukata, it will add a touch of elegance. A battery-operated handheld fan will cool you down more effectively.
  • Plastic bag

It is considered good manners to take your trash home with you at fireworks festivals. It is a good idea to bring plastic bags to put food and drink containers and packaging in when there are no trash cans nearby or when it is difficult to move around due to crowds.
  • Towels, handkerchiefs, sweat wipes

Fireworks festivals in midsummer are hot, and people tend to get sweaty in the crowds. Terrycloth handkerchiefs are useful for washing your hands and wiping away sweat. Also, if you have a portable sweat wipe, you can stay comfortable even when you're out for a long time.
  • Cooling Products

There are many different types of cooling products available, including gels, sheets, sprays, etc. Prepare the cooling product that best suits your needs and enjoy the fireworks display in comfort.
